LOOE LUGGER CLASSICS (Incorporating the Made-in-Looe Regatta): 31st July to 2nd August 2026

REGISTRATION FOR PARTICIPANTS: ENTRY FEE of £40.00 per boat (payment details below) for The Regatta which welcomes Looe Luggers, Cornish and other Luggers, and, in addition, all Heritage Craft designed and built in the spirit of tradition, regardless of age, construction material, or motive power, together with any boat designed and / or built in Looe. Submitting this Form entitles the boat to have six free tickets for entry to shoreside evening events during the Regatta. However, additional tickets can be purchased on our website for £5 per person per night. Vessels arriving on the Thursday evening high tide should be aware that the weekly Looe Sailing Club races may be taking part in the Bay and there may be sailing dinghies leaving and entering the harbour at around this time. Boats arriving on the Friday evening high tide will be met in the Bay by a launch prior to entering the harbour. Please maintain a radio watch on Channel 8, or make contact by telephone on 077 286 70 211. Any boat carrying paying passengers and / or operating commercially must contact The Looe Harbour Master to produce the required Certificates and paperwork one calendar month prior to the event with the required documentation. AGREEMENT (To be deemed as signed upon the submission of this form) I/WE agree to be bound by the INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS FOR THE PREVENTION OF COLLISIONS AT SEA, THE RACING RULES OF SAILING (the current edition as published by World Sailing), and THE SAILING INSTRUCTIONS under which this Regatta is sailed. Please note that all vessels must comply with Local Byelaws during the Regatta. LIABILITY EXCLUSION 1. A Boat (meaning to include "The Skipper" in this Document hereafter) is entirely responsible for her own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing, whether in the Notice of Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility. 2. It is for the Boat to decide whether she is fit to sail in the conditions in which she will find herself. By launching, or going to sea, the Boat confirms that she is fit for those conditions and that her crew is competent to sail and compete in them. 3. The Boat holds adequate insurance and, in particular, holds insurance against third party claims in the sum of at least £3,000,000 to include recovery of wreck cover. 4. Nothing done by the Organisers can reduce the responsibility of the Boat nor will it make the Organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred as a result of the boat taking part in the event. The description "Organisers" encompasses everyone helping to run the Regatta and the event, and includes, but not inclusively, The Cornish Lugger Association (operating as "Looe Lugger Classics"), Looe Harbour Commissioners, the Safety & Berthing Teams, Looe Sailing Club, any Launch / RIB patrol/safety boats, and the Committee Boat. 5. The provision of patrol/safety boats does not relieve the boat of her responsibilities. However, dues may become payable by Owner/Skippers/Boats outside of those dates. Should it be necessary, or if you require additional crew members, Volunteers may be available from the Looe Fishing fleet and Looe Sailing Club. This year’s Regatta will have an on-line programme, so if you want your vessel featured in that on-line brochure, please send us full details of your boat, and a picture or two, well in advance.
